PROGRAMS

  • FOUNDATIONS

The Foundations program is the backbone to our system. Here we focus on techniques of Jiu Jitsu for a combative situation. The program covers both 7 standing and 7 ground positions applied for self-defense. Through this program, practitioners will develop an understanding for one on one combat, learn fundamental grappling techniques that apply to various positions of a fight, and build the physical awareness and skill in these positions.

  • FUNDAMENTALS

After graduating from the Foundations program, students will continue their practice in the Fundamentals program. Here, we focus on techniques that apply to the "game" or sport of Jiu Jitsu. In this program we encompass various techniques that apply to grappling against another trained opponent. This practice consists of technical discussion, drilling, and sparring in both takedowns and ground fighting. Here students will not only learn new techniques, but start to develop an understanding for the mechanics of the technique and how the body can use leverage to control another individual.

  • STRIKING

Open to members only, the Striking program focuses on the standing phase of combat. In this program, students will learn basic striking, clinching, and takedown mechanics as it applies to one on one combat. Through a series of drills, controlled sparring, and conditioning, students will develop their ability to control distance, defend against strikes, as well as use strikes as a means to close the distance and take an opponent down to the floor.

  • WORKSHOP

Workshop hours will be held weekly, open to all and free to members. Our hosted workshops will vary from week to week consisting of advanced technical training, guest instructors, seminars, and other movement classes. Contact us for details.

  • WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE

Our Women’s Self Defense program is an introductory course to Jiu Jitsu focusing on the application of grappling techniques for self-defense situations. In this program, students will learn how to perform basic Jiu Jitsu techniques and develop an understanding for how to approach specific combative situations against a potential threat. This class consists of light drilling, technical discussion, and situational training in order to both practice and apply these techniques in a live, controlled setting.

  • FORM

In collaboration with The Combat Sports Club, “Form” is a conditioning class revolving around striking and grappling movements in combination with plyometric and strength & conditioning exercises. This class is perfect for the beginner student looking for both a workout and introduction to martial arts, as well as seasoned practitioners and competitors who want to improve their athleticism and physical conditioning.
